Worried about NYU

Couple of my friends who applied to NYU, already got their their acceptance letters. However it says that the decisions for NYU will be recieved on april 1st. I still didnt get mine, does this look bad for me?.......is NYU sending the acceptance letter before the rejection letters?.....really worried and nervous....does anyone know anything about this?

bumppppppppppppppppp.....................................

I wouldn't worry, didn't apply to NYU but i'm pretty sure those who applied to the general studies program get their acceptance letters during feb and march, might be rolling admissions. Your decision will come ~April 1st no matter if it's a rejection or acceptance (hopefully) letter

actually he did apply to general studies and got in

NYU sent invitations to an event called Sunday at the Square to top applicants...I guess this is equivalent to an acceptance letter (Admissions Office confirms this). However, the bulk of regular decisions will be mailed out on April 1st.

dont worry those who get the Sunday letters are like the amazing ones with 2300 and 99 gpas (who have NYU as a safety prob), most ppl find out in April.

and a word of comfort!

juniors don't worry if you have a relatively low SAT score (for CC), I had barely above a 2100

Hey! I got an invitation to the Sunday at the Square thing to NY... but I definitely don't think I am a top applicant. You think it really equates to an acceptance letter?

...but you cant apply to the General Studies Program.

I'm really worried, I haven't heard from them, and how did some already receive an official letter (not GSP, and not Sunday at the Square thing)??!!

Yeah apparently it's one of those "likely" letters, meaning ur basically in. I got one too, so it's very exciting. Since it would be stupid to post my stats everywhere, if ur interested in mine, just search for other posts by me (it's in my last one).

Yes, the invitation to Sunday at the Square is basically saying that you got in. My S got that last year when he applied to Stern and the invitation was all about the Stern Scholar program. I called and directly asked if this means he got in and they said yes and that he got into the Stern Scholar program. It was at this breakfast that he decided that he wanted to go there because we learned alot about Stern from the students there and the Dean, who makes the rounds at the breakfast tables. We were so impressed with the leadership at Stern and NYU. The President of NYU is the coolest, down to earth guy who was wearing a NY Yankees t-shirt under his regular shirt and told everyone that he was going to opening day for the Yankees. I think that sold my S 'cause he is a BIG Yankees FAN. Go to the breakfast and ask lots of questions of the students and make your decision. They have the breakfast for all the schools at NYU I think.

does anyone know what percentage of students are offered this honor?
