Worried about qualifications (Deerfield Academy)

I'm an international student and am keen to apply for Deerfield Academy.

I'll fill you in about my background:

Academics
Top in my grade from Grade 1 to 6
Multiple awards for English, Chinese, Math, Science and Social Studies from Grade 1 to 6
Was accepted into the top girls' school in my country
GPA hovers around 3.87 out of 4.0 (pretty bad by my standards)

Extra-Curriculars
Squash
Girl Guides

Interests
I love Physics, Geography and Chinese, but I'm not an exceptional student. Additionally, I enjoy playing squash competitively.

Do you think I'll qualify for Deerfield?

The SSAT tests a completely different range of questions from what I am used to in school, and I'm worried that it would have a negative impact on my performance.

As my country practises a bilingual policy, I also was unable to channel all my effort into studying English, which resulted in a substandard level of English communication (as you probably have already realized by now). I fear that I will not be able to answer the interview questions to expectation especially since I'm reserved by nature.

Additionally, if in the rare occasion do I qualify for the academy, are there any tips that you have for me to assimilate into the American schooling system?

Thanks so much for your help!

P.S. Ugh I'm so nervous! When I read this forum, I felt like a complete idiot. Everyone here's just so brilliant and outstanding in something, but I'm not. I really want to enrol in Deerfield though! :(

No, being the top in your class isn’t exceptional.

Your English seems fine…

Also, admission to Deerfield is very subjective. You don’t just “qualify” for admission and you’re automatically admitted. That being said, I suggest you apply just to see what happens.
