Hi guys, so we have welcome week starting September 24 and I believe our classes start on the 27th. However, on October 4th and October 5th I have to miss all my classes because I have to go to Berkeley for some personal reasons. So that means I'll be gone for 5 classes and that's only the second week of school. Is that bad? Could I get dropped out of my classes for this?

In general, you won’t get dropped. Remember professors don’t take attendance, so it’s not like they’ll know if you show up. I’m assuming you’re taking lower-division classes.

However, some labs, or theatre or writing or language classes do require you to show up the first day so make sure you aren’t missing any of those classes, if you’re taking any. If you’re not sure if discussion is required (e.g. all lower-division chem, math and physics sections aren’t but writing GE section attendance is mandatory) just ask before you leave.

Depends on your classes but you’ll most likely be fine.
