Worried about Teacher Evaluation

I'm asking my teachers for recommendations around now, so I just looked at the teacher evaluations on the common application. I consider myself a strong student and everything, but looking at the "Ratings" section kind of bothered me. When it comes to "Productive Class Discussion," I cannot say I am very worthy of a high rating. I'm a pretty quiet kid in class, particularly the ones where I'm asking for a recommendation; I really don't talk very often. Should I be worried about how this will reflect in my evaluation, and how colleges will look at me?

Plenty of quiet people got into top college. This weekend, my D was interviewed by a senior at a prestigious LAC. She was so quiet, my D had to do all the talking. Now I'm worried that talkative student will not be admitted.( because D is the opposite of the interviewer)
I'll be you this interviewer does not talk much in class either and she got into top LAC.

Personally, I'd be more worried that you're only asking them now instead of a few months ago...

^werd.

but i guess different places have different standards and deadlines

i'm a relatively quiet person, but it's important to participate in class discussion. for the teachers i asked recs for, I often go into their classrooms before school just to chat with them. if you know your teachers well, you schould have a good idea of what they will do with your rec

Don't worry I'm sure your teacher should know you pretty well after an entire year with you.

I am kind of curious to know what my teachers wrote about me. Especially my Physics teacher from last year because i slept in her class every day. I hope that doesn't come to haunt me :P

Depends on where you're applying, could be a matter of fit. At larger U's many of the classes are lecture based and there's not a lot of time for class discussion. On the other hand one of the reasons people choose a LAC is so they can be in small classes and take part in discussions; the emphasis is NOT on a prof talking for an hour to a group of 15 students.

Oh well, I guess I'll just have to hope for the best. What I particularly like about the teachers I've picked is that I've been in their classes more than once. I figure they'll know me better than most teachers, and they'll understand that I may not talk much, but I can still contribute.

And in response to Johnson181: Yes, I know I'm behind. I asked my teachers a few weeks ago but I'm giving them my resume/common app evaluations now. I didn't apply early anywhere and I'll probably be going right down to the wire for the general January 1st deadline, seeing as I'm still finalizing my list. :(
