Worried about the Greek Life partying scene... Advice please!

I plan to be a freshman at UW beginning in the fall of 2016. Throughout high school I have been active in sports, holding leadership positions, and involvement in clubs – I thrive on a busy schedule and feeling connected to a lot of people. As I enter into college, I am hoping for a similar level of involvement and to enjoy being part of a social group… however I do not party now and don’t really want to enter the partying scene in college. Are there UW Sororities that don’t party as often, or is this just to be expected with Greek Life? I really would love the instant sense of sisterhood, but this is definitely something that might prevent me from joining. Thoughts?? Any advice would be great  Thank you!

You’ll be fine in the Greek system. You are not alone in that you devoted your time in high school to activities/academics and are facing a party atmosphere for the first time. Every house (and dorm) at the UW will have partiers and non partiers, as will sororities, fraternities and dorms at other schools. You’ll find friends with your same tolerance for partying wherever you choose to live.
