~Personal Statements
Even though my personal statements were alright and acceptable, I answered the prompt directly in a straight forward manner. It was probably average+. I’m not so sure about it. I don’t want to sound too optimistic. One talked about how I connected with my father and learning from him to start my club. The second one discussed my concern of the local hunger and my resolve to end it through organizing the school food drive. Also, it discussed how I organized the Rebuilding Silicon Valley Project and my Leadership class experience.

You have a decent shot at most of the UC's, you should not have a problem with UCI, UCSB, UCSD, and UCSC. However, it might be more difficult at UCLA and UCB, but you have a slim chance at both.

^Disagree with UCSD. UCSD is pretty heavy on the UC GPA...

By the way, I forgot to mention what majors I chose for all the UCs.
It was undeclared social science across the board practically. So will this improve my chances of getting in, given that most people who apply to UCs usually major in engineering or other sciences??

Please chance me, I'm really worried. I'll chance you back! :) Give me your link. Thanks a lot everyone! :D

UCLA and UC Berk are reaches, UCSD is a low reach and the rest are matches.

^ ucla and ucb will be hard, gpa is kind of low, and sats can't really cover for the gpa at ucla and ucb, I don't know a lot about the other ucs. Good Luck..

bump
10char

Agree with FP9 word for word

Any other insights and opinions, please? Thanks!

bump, anyone else, please? Thanks..

Cal, LA, SD will all be somewhat reaches because of your GPA. Your Sat is not that bad, but 100 points below average. I think it will come down to your essays.
Last year my friend had an 1850, 500-650 SAT IIs, 3.8 UC GPA, really good ECs (junior olympics for water polo) and amazing essays. He got into LA and USC. Not Cal though.

UCLA and Berkeley do seem like stretches, but not out of the question. I think that considering the strength of your school and your excellent extracurriculars, you do have a shot. Except for UCLA and Berkeley, i think you are in everywhere else.
Could you chance me back? <a href="http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/655614-please-chance-me-acceptance-into-finest.html%5B/url%5D">http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/655614-please-chance-me-acceptance-into-finest.html</a></p>

You can use UC Statfinder to see past admit SATs and GPAs...compare how you rate and it will give you an idea, despite UC's disclaimer below:

with a UC gpa of 3.5 you have a slim chance for UCLA and UC Berkeley. very slim, but maybe you would consider transferring if those are your dream schools? if not the other ones you listed will give you better chances and are really good schools too. good luck with this. oh and also, try bringing up the sat? anywhere above 2000 just looks good, and you're pretty close. it shouldn't be too hard, just check out some prep books from your library.

and if you want to chance me here's the link
<a href="http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/655328-brown-usc-etc-will-chance-back.html%5B/url%5D">http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/655328-brown-usc-etc-will-chance-back.html</a></p>

Any other opinions, please? Thanks!

Any other chances, please. Thank you.

Any other thoughts, please?

The way I see it, the essays will prove if you’re acceted to UCLA and UCB

Be confident about the others

I’m on the opposite scale, I have an oustanding GPA but low SAT

(1590)

lol

but my ECs, community service are beyond anyone I know (I have over 500 hours of Volunteer Hospital Service, also 500 more hours of Rural-medicine experience, plus over 100 hours of tutoring in spanish and music)

I’m also an AP Scholar, and I was able to do well in two AP tests I didn’t even take classes for.

What I’m really confident about are my personal statements.

Any other thoughts, thanks!
