Has anyone been accepted to FSU with a D on their transcript? If so, what were your other stats? I’m currently a junior struggling in AP Calc AB. FSU is my dream school so I will do whatever it takes to go there.
Being honest, a D is likely to get you deferred if you apply in October (and if you apply in March, outright rejected, so apply in October). You can ultimately get accepted, especially if it’s the only issue with your application, but a lot of applicants get deferred for having a D.
If it’s only 1 D, your course rigor is high and your GPA and SAT/ACT scores are great, you’ll probably still be accepted in the end. If you have other issues, though, a D on your transcript is just one more negative.
Don’t worry about it! I got two D’s and a bunch of C’s freshman year, then went on to do much better. Got accepted with a scholarship. As long as you don’t show a downward trend in general, you’re fine.
lol, I got a D and F in algebra II honors sophomore year and got accepted into fall. I retook the class though and got B’s
Bro, I got a D in chem, and even had an unweighted GPA as low as a 2.7 just a year ago in the beginning of junior year. I retook the class, got an A, and even decided to take 7 AP’s this year. My unweighted is still only a 3.1, but if colleges see that you’re improving, then they are more inclined to take you. Make sure that your ACT/SAT are high enough to compensate for the D; I got a 1930 SAT and a 31 ACT and I will hear from FSU in about two weeks. So far, I’ve gotten into UCF, USF, FIU, UMinnesota Twin Cities and have yet to hear back from about 10 more schools. Just keep your head up high and work as hard as you can.
I have a handful of Ds spread all over my transcript, and two Junior year! I got accepted the other day, so don’t worry too much about it!
