Didn’t get accepted like a few of my classmates during the mid-December acceptances. Hopefully I get in the mid-Feb acceptances, just want some people to chance me thanks!
Eligibility Index : 4280
Business Major-Finance
SAT:2110 M-770 CR-630
GPA 3.2 unweighted 3.6 csu weighted
Senior (obviously) in a Southern California school but not in San Diego.
The classmates of mine that have gotten in have had around a 3.8, most in business, and have had around 1800 SAT scores. Why didn’t I get in with the high stat applicants in December?
- Did any of your classmates get into the Finance major specifically with lower Stats? SDSU will rank applicants each major based on their EI and accept from the highest down. Maybe, the EI threshold for early acceptances in the Finance major was higher than the other Business majors, so you were not accepted at that time.
- Your SAT score is outstanding and way above the average; however, your CSU GPA is below the average and many times a GPA vs Test score mismatch may be a red flag for admissions.
- Many times there is no reason why one applicant gets in vs. another.
You are a competitive applicant and I am sure you will hear soon. Just be patient and Good Luck.
Here are the #'s for admitted Freshman/Transfer from last year to see how many applicants apply to each major and how many are accepted.

With an EI over 4200, I’m pretty confident you’ll get in. One caveat - you have to complete the A-G courses or they won’t accept you.
@Gumbymom
I’m not sure but I will ask the already accepted students, thanks for all the information btw!!
@NCalRent
I’m confident that iwill finish the a-g courses but thanks for the heads up
