I’m a graduating high school student, attending Salisbury university this fall (studying History Secondary Education)! I’m very excited and found a roommate that I love. I’m a very dedicated student and chose Salisbury due to the amount of scholarships that I received, distance to home, and the feel of the campus. Many of my friends are going to more prestigious schools, which doesn’t bother me. However, I am worried because friends and family do tell me that Salisbury students tend to not take school seriously. I would like to hope for the best, but does anyone have advice for me? I just want to keep up my grades and not let my standards fall because of my environment. I also want to make like-minded friends, but I chose not to be in the Honors Program because you were forced to take certain classes that were of no use to me.
No matter where you go there will be people you like and people you don’t. The school has around 8,000 undergrads, I’d be surprised if you couldn’t become friends with at least a few of them.
