worried...oh gosh :/

I'm really worried about getting into NEU. So far, my GPA is not great at all. For now, it is pretty decent. I'm on my junior year and I've been getting As and Bs and like 1 or 2 C. I got As and Bs last term...but I'm still very worried. I have been getting Ds and Cs for freshmen year and Bs and a little Cs for Sophmore. Even though, i did improve, I don't have too much decent ECs or any great awards. Do I still have a chance at all? :(

If I do many ECs this year, do it make me look better or does it make me look like a last minute person?

Btw, is it true that they will focus more on your Junior Year grades

Cool!!
Another fellow NEU hopeful!! :D

Could you be more specific on your stat’s? Like what is your GPA exactly and what is your SAT and or ACT score?
Whatc are your exact EC’s?

And what attracted you to this school?

i love NEU <3 i’m visiting in april!!!

stats, for other NEU hopefuls as well
UW GPA- 4.05
W GPA- 4.15

SAT- 1940 (never retaking again, ACT in april)
ECs-
varsity track 9&10 grades.
pres of national latin honor society 11th grade
VP of china club 10th grade
buildOn (just started) 11th grade
various volunteering to come tomorrow night/next week through build on, a lot of hours
camp counselor since 7th grade for children w. disabilities over 4 or 500 hours
camp counselor since last summer for a reg. day camp 70 hours (i could only work 20 hours a week so i stayed extra to use as volunteer hours)

i think that’s it :/

–> i thought blackrose posted this! anyways, jayson good luck.
and it sort of is true about the focusing on jr year grades, because that’s all they will see if you apply early… if you apply reg they will see first semester ish of senior year. but jr year is when most people get the opportunity to take APs, so they want to see how you chose your classes

Typically schools will look mostly at junior year grades and maybe even first semester senior year ones. They prefer it when you have consistent extra curriculars because it means that you were committed to it (leadership positions are also good). It also depends on the major you do because the stats for mechanical engineering or pharmacy will obviously be different than the stats for studio art.

^
Do you perhaps know where I could find stats per major for incoming freshmen?

@ CPU :stuck_out_tongue: sorry for the late reply…

um haha i actually have a thread here

cool a fellow I.B. student. Those classes kill right? lolz

eeek on those grades.
SAT is avergae, almost the same as mine. I’ve been told that if NEU is my choice then my SAT’ need to go waaaay up. Same thing goes for you.

Your GPA must be weighted right?
You show an upward trend which could help you a lot. Just keep trying.

black-- he totally moved to a different board without telling anyone lol click the link
