Worried Over AP scores

So, I am a freshman who recently took the AP Human Geography Exam, and scored a 3. I am very disappointed. It is also very strange because in the class itself I got and A+. How do these two relate to each other? Do colleges look at the class grade or the exam score more? Should I be worried about the 3?

If it has nothing to do with your interests or preferred major, then I say that it’ll have no impact whatsoever.

Look at it this way, if a person is an avid researcher in human geography, has many ECs aligned with it, and writes essays on that topic, then yes a 3 on the exam would be a blow because the admissions people might think “Maybe OP isn’t as passionate about human geography as he presents himself to be.”

If you are passionate about something completely different from human geography then this shouldn’t matter at all. Most top colleges look more at if you have potential for being super successful in a certain field in the future to bring their college recognition. They don’t care if you are perfect in everything. The A+ shows that you are a hard worker.

They might look at that A+ as like an A or A-, but probably not. It isn’t really a big deal either way. Don’t worry

Thank you, I feel more relaxed.
