Worried that my TAG might get revoked for UCSC Computer Science

Hello all.

I applied TAG for CS at UCSC this year, and so far have one requirement left, which will be completed by the end of this Spring. My only issue is I took a foundation course as a high school student and received a D, but retook it after graduation for an A. Will UCSC revoke TAG for course repeats?

Moreover, I received a 2.73 GPA during the Fall 2019 semester, but my cumulative and foundation course GPA has not dropped below a 3.0. Will the 2.73 kill my TAG?

Here are the UCSC TAG GPA conditions:

**By the end of the fall 2019 term prior to transfer, you must:
Earn an overall transferable UC GPA of 3.0

By the end of the spring 2020 term prior to fall transfer, you must:
Earn no grades lower than C (2.0) in UC-transferable coursework the year prior to transfer**

If you meet these GPA conditions, then your TAG is not revoked.

If you had the D before this fall you’re fine. The GPA is cumulative.

Yes I received the D grade during Summer 2017. The UCSC counselor said that some majors don’t accept repeats for major courses, which this was, so I am extremely worried.

So the D I received in the major required course (which has been retaken for an A) should not have any effect on my TAG, correct?

You ought to contact the dept directly. They are a more reliable source of information about their rules than the people out here on the forum

I personally would note in the TAU in the additional comments why you got the D.
