My course load was pretty difficult, but i did not do too well in it.

My goal is to get into a UC, I want to major in Business Administration. I know i don't meet the requirements of top tier UC's but do i stand a chance to get into a UC at all? I would really appreciate your honesty.

I plan to retake the SAT 1
I have only taken the SAT once
I have never taken the SAT 2's
I was pushed into a situation where i only had 3 options to sign up for the SAT test.

Schools i wish to attend
UCI, UCSD, UCR, UCSC, UCSB, UCD, UCM

please chance me.

I think you are in at UCR and UCM
But I think for the others you lack the GPA and SAT scores for.

Shiomi, if i were to boost my SAT 1 into the 1800’s range
and my SAT 2’s in the 500+ range
and get straight A’s senior year, is UCI a chance?

To be honest, you getting 500s in the SAT 2s is really bad…so that may actually be working against you. I have no idea what to say, because I am also in the process of applying to UCs myself and I am by no means a great student. I think you should consider adding some cal states in there like cal poly pomona, slo and various others.

Nope. Sorry. UCs don’t consider Senior grades.

Have fun at community college, man. Or Merced. :P

But seriously, I’m just being realistic.

@Milk - Dude that is kind of harsh.

There are some good cal states that are far better than attending a community college or merced. Seriously look into it. Bump your SATs to the 1800s too if you want to get into like cal poly.

No, UCI will be VERY difficult to get into with a weak GPA and SAT II’s in 500 range. (although SAT II’s don’t amount to much for UC’s), even with 1800.

Hey, I go to Brea High school… I went to Elite with Phoebe from Walnut, class of 09’ maybe you know her.

so i basically don’t have a chance at any UC.

hey, I go to MV, and our counselor told me that UCM and UCR are pretty much accepting ANYONE who applies (within reason). I would say you would be able to get in, but it could be close, since your GPA is low and your SAT score is low also…

I’m in a similar boat as you, and I figure that if I don’t get into the better UCs, then I will settle for one of the “worse” ones, and possibly transfer. But in the end, they’re all good schools if you put the effort into it…
