I am a great student. I have been getting straight As since middle school. Unfortunately, during high school, my freshman year, i had begun to get very sick. I missed a lot of school and had to teach much of the information that I missed to myself.Though my grades were not completely terrible, they had fallen from what they would normally be. Now, I am a sophmore and my medical conditions have been worse than last year. I have missed twice as much school as I did last year. I am still, however, managing to do quite well. I am doing better than many who have perfect attendance. My dream has always been to attend Yale, but since I have missed so much school, and have not gotten to participate in many extra curriculars I have decided to shoot for Columbia University, which I am assuming is a little easier to be admitted to. I am much better now healthwise, and I am working very hard to catch up in school. I have been selected by one of my teachers to be a writer for the Florida Cappies next year, I am also considering being a part of the school play again next year, as I am in drama club. I take two Ap classes this year, and plan on taking four next year. I am also taking Acting III next year to show that I am comitted to something. Does it sound like I have a chance of getting into Columbia? I have had a rough first two years of high school, and now with my health being better, I know that I can excel greatly the way I used to next year. I would love to talk to someone who was admitted to Columbia. What do I need? What can I do? Do I have a chance of getting in? Do I need to do more outside of school? (I will get my semester grades from this and last year, so that you can see them.)
