Hey, everybody! I was wondering if any if you guy's berkeley myapplication changed? Does it say your appeal is in review? I'm really worry right now that my appeal letter might not work anymore because i sent it in Saturday April 14th. I was suppose to send it in Thursday of that week but i wanted my teacher to review it over, but unfortunately she didn't end up reviewing it. I'm still very mad and disappointed in her as she did promise me to read it. I sent it in Saturday, so the postmark will be for that date, but that will mean that they won't receive the appeal letter by hand on Sunday April 15th, the due date. So, am i completely rejected already?? They say postmark by April 15th but im really scare.

well...it certainly isn't good that you mailed it late. You're trying to show Berkeley that you deserve to go here. That's like showing up to a job interview late: might not end the possibility, but your chances probably went down.

Did you want your teacher to review it, intentionally knowing you would mail it late (because that would not have been very smart on your end), or did you plan to mail it by thursday, but the teacher held on to it or something?

No she said she was going to read it, but i waited for an answer till like Friday night. my god, horrible decision. I was really worried when i sent in that late, but it says postmarked so if i my postmark is April 14th than is it okay?

I'd imagine...did you get the posted before thursday?

Berkeley is more flexible with the deadline anyways. April 15th is not even a deadline. Its recommended.

^ that's good news!

I'm pretty sure it is more of a deadline, because it said have it postmarked by the 15th, where previous years have said get it in before the 15th if you want it back before the 1st. Personally got mine postmarked the 16th, because my school was closed from the 6th to the 15th, so I never had time to get teacher recommendations. I called the appeals deptartment and explained my situation, and they said it will not affect my decision at all, but DO explain why it is a day late. Because she affirmed that I should state why it was in late, I'd say its more of a deadline than a recommendation.

Oh I see, but yours was postmarked on the 16th, but mine was postmarked on the 14th. So if mine was postmarked on the 14th then is it consider late? I think i should still call though. What number did you call? Uhh i guessed i was fooled by how they said postmarked. so they don't care if it is postmarked or not, huh? They want it in their hands by the 15th. man, mine would be 1 day late because i live really close to berkeley. so it probably got to their hands on Monday instead of Sunday.

oh, wait it says if i want to get it by May 1st. so that would mean I'm not going to get it by May 1st, but still be considered?

You postmarked it by the 15th, as directed. Why are you stressing?

is anyone still waiting for the window of myapplication to change??? how long does it usually take? i hope that they're still updating it because it's taking them awhile to change the window page.

changed today, a little blue box ontop of the REJECTION.

oh that's good to hear. when did you send in your letter? i'm still waiting for it to change.

mailed/postmarked mine on Friday, April 13 and my status says "under review."
as stated by subsidon, there's a blue box that should be labeled "Appeal Status"

postmarked 4/17
No "under review" or anything

hey DanielR2007 you postedmarked on the 17th? maybe you just have to wait a little longer because they don't mind if you're a little late or not right??

hey everyone... i sent my berkeley appeal in on the 13th... and when i logged in today, it still said the same message it did when i got rejected on the 29th... it doesnt say "we ve received your application" or anything. is anyone elses not updated either?
