Worry that my SAT scores won't make the deadline of Dec 1st

Hi, so I’m taking the SAT this Saturday and it’ll be my first and only SAT and all the schools I’m applying to all have RD deadlines of December 1st. I’m worried that my scores won’t make it for the deadline, so should I use the option of rushing the score? Also, how will not having an SAT score when the application’s due affect my chances and what are my options if that happens? Thank you so much in advance.

have you checked with the colleges whether they accept the November test?

I haven’t emailed all of my admissions officers yet, but I will do so soon to ask if they accept the Nov test–if not, I’m really screwed haha. I will be sure to call and email all of my schools ASAP

You do not say which colleges and you really need to check whether (a) they accept Nov test scores, (b) accept them even if they arrive after the application deadline, which most do, and © whether they even accept rush scores (some don’t).There is a way to assure scores will arrive by December 1 but it is not by rush score. It is by sending the scores blind before you get them by designating the colleges in your test registration as ones to automatically receive scores upon release. You have to make that designation in your test registration by the no later than the ninth day after taking the test. That results in the fastest form of delivery as scores are usually sent electronically to the college one to to two days before the scores are even released online to you.

If you haven’t taken the SAT or the ACT before, you might as well just have your scores sent automatically to all of your colleges.

^^agreed. Except that you have a high GPA and the college is test-optional.
