Worst case scenario: Would you rather be deferred or rejected?

<p>I know no one likes to think about this, but which would you prefer? Assuming you don't get accepeted ED of course...</p>

<p>Deferred obviously. You applied to Cornell ED because you want to go there. I'd at least like the option of going there to still be there.</p>

<p>Deferred definitely...dumb question kind of. Why would you want to be rejected outright? Being deferred means you still have a chance...</p>

<p>some people just want to move on so they can choose another school or attend a school the already got into rolling.</p>

<p>Ya, but I would imagine those kinds of people, I may be one we'll find out shortly, will just move on anyways. But being flat out rejected is worse from what I've heard then deferral even if the school defers a lot of people.</p>

If that were the case, why would they care if they got deferred or rejected when they want to pick another school?</p>
