Worst grades gotten without getting rescinded

What are the worst second semester grades someone has gotten without getting rescinded? Examples would be great...if there you are a Harvard student here who had poor grades for second semester, could you post what those grades are, and post what (if any) action Harvard took? If you got rescinded or know someone who did, could you detail that too?

Thanks a lot in advance.

My friend got a D 3rd term, but I doubt she’ll get rescinded. She can probably bring it up to a C+ for a final grade.

My school doesn’t go by semester, sorry.

I always understood rescinding reserved for criminal violations, unless one either: fails all of his or her classes, or drops out of all of his or her classes.

I think they rescind for lesser failures than getting F’s in all classes.

Ok, maybe if you get a D in Art and still fail everything else, they’ll rescind.

they only see your final, end of the year grades though right? I’ve gone down in most of my subjects, but when I average it with my earlier grades its not too bad of a drop. Like A to B+ for a few things, and maybe one B-, but I got a C- in one class that I’m hoping they don’t have to see if only the final grades are sent in.

They’ll see your whole transcript, since I believe that’s what gets sent. Am I wrong? I think the grades bar is set higher than what Amadeuic claims (geez, Amadeuic, we’re talking Harvard here, not Brown  They may look for some kind of explanation from your guidance person or from you if you were a straight-A student for 7 semetsers, and suddenly got, say, all C’s, or a couple of D’s. I’d say a single “F” may be a big red flag, prompting them to get the story behind the story. But an out-and-out rescind?? I think it would, as Amadeuic says, require serious academic misconduct or suspension/expulsion from your school, or criminal acts, possibly involving barnyard animals.

You may want to call admissions and just ask them. I’m sure they have a rubric. Adcoms have rubrics for everything.

the transcript i sent in the fall only had final grades for the year in each grade, not what I had gotten every term of every grade. I assumed they would do the same for senior grades, but I wasn’t sure from the way some people were talking about it here. Do other schools send in the grades from every term of every year?

Hey, Earl, they just need to see that we passed… If we did it once, we can just take it S/NC on the second go around. :P.

But of course I’m exaggerating a tad…

Basically, one bad class isn’t going to ruin you, especially this late in the game.

Just don’t fall off the cliff completely.

Ha! Just as suspected, Ama.
