I actually have heard reville at the academy at the summer seminar, just not enough to hate it (yet)

Thought it would be fun to wake up Potterfan over thanksgiving break that way one day. She nearly killed me!!

worst part of bct - the "hallway" in jacks.
worst part of 4* year - probation. don't get on it.

What's the hallway in jack's, bree89?

The replacement for the hallways in Vandie while you're in Jack's, zach.

I must say, though, the A-course had to be the worst part of basic for me...other than that though, most of my good memories of basic are from Jack's. When you get put through so much, you (are supposed to) bond with your classmates. And you'll find anything to laugh at during Jack's too.

Yeah, not having to worry about academics at night was nice too...

What Basic squadron was your son in? Not Flying Tigers by any chance? I ask because your son reminds me of someone in my basic flight who left near the end of Jack's due to a medical turnback...best of luck to your son as he continues to prepare to comes back next year.

Falcons '11 - He was a Barbarian - D flight. Good luck on your finals and enjoy your Christmas break. If anyone has the misfortune of getting a medical turnback, come back to this forum for support and answers. It was very helpful for us last summer. Hopefully, we will not have to go through that again. He developed an ankle and leg infection from a puncture wound he received before he went to BCT. We decided to bubble wrap him two months before he leaves in June of 2008!!

soaringhi so sorry your son had to go home early. Our Daughter was in Barbarians "D" too. He would have enjoyed CS-08 about as much as any Doolie can.

I was just wondering...what is I-Day like?

A lot of "hurry up and wait"...and yelling.

Like raimius said, you'll get a good dose of "Why the heck am I standing here for this long?"

Wow, good times... ;)

USAFA10S I stumbled on this thread and with BCT getting so close I wondered if 1) your mom is ready for BCT and 2) if your getting nervous yet? Don't worry it will be over before either of you know it, and you will be worried about prog and getting your phone all the time.

I don't know about USAFA10S' mom, but I am not ready for BCT and I am getting nervous...but I don't think that it matters if I am ready or not, because here it comes!

When it starts...you'll be ready. One minute at a time...focus on the immediate moment and you will be fine. The hard part is the anticipation. Thousands have gone before you with the same worries and fears and most finish. Remember it is a test of your will and desire. You have the tools and the everything needed. It's ALL in YOU!!! As Nike says...JUST DO IT!!! And have fun.

Take it meal by meal. Thats by far the best way to get through basic. You won't have any idea what time it is, except for the meals- so when you finish breakfast, just focus on getting to lunch and so on.
