Worst Paying College Degrees

<p>My parents were both history majors. They are now both successful lawyers and are quite well off (I don’t know specific stats, but we don’t qualify for financial aid). I don’t think it’s about the degree - I think it’s about the intellectual caliber of the person who receives the degree. Does English attract a higher percentage of slackers than engineering? Almost certainly. I believe that is the reason for the wage disparity.</p>

<p>Reading here on collegeconfidential, you get the impression that everyone who has a liberal arts undergraduate degree goes on to be lawyers, doctors, politicians, etc, etc.</p>

<p>In reality, I don’t think more than 1 in 10 people graduating with degrees in liberal arts go on to graduate from law school. Probably slightly less for medical doctor or dentistry.</p>
