Worst Teacher Ever---Describe Yours

My Physics teacher was absolutely lovely. I simply cannot sum up how insane this woman was. She would do have us do labs that simply did not work and then make us write a lab report in a different method every time then take points off because she forgot what she wanted us to have in it. Tests were graded arbitrarily with some people not having points taken off for some questions and other people having them. She was terrible at actually teaching us anything too, none of us ever understood a word she was saying and the only way to figure out what was going on was to read the bloody book and teach yourself. There are a lot of other stories too, but I’d rather not dwell on them.

It took about 2 years for them to finally take the physics classes off her. (I don’t think she was actually fired…)

For some reason science teachers are the worst. Every now and then you get a good one, but I think it’s really true that most are just people that couldn’t get jobs in industry.

I’ve had fairly good science teachers with the exception of my eighth grade earth science one.

I had a science teacher once who sent a student to the office because he used the stapler. This wasn’t during a lecture or anything. We were working on some worksheets, and the student stapled the paper together to turn the assignment in.

In French class this year we were “working on a project” for four weeks. The project was a three page french essay. Basically we did nothing.

Health teacher in 9th grade.

All he did was show pictures of infected *****es in class and laugh.
I got an 89.9% in his class which came up as a B+.

He doesn’t teach at my school anymore.

This year, my English teacher gave us an excerpt from a book written by John Smith, one of the first colonists of America. The next day, we were given a pass-fail quiz on the definition of the word “posterity” without the excerpt at hand.

In every English class I’ve ever been in, I’ve always been taught to infer what a word means by examining what context it’s used in. However, my teacher simply said, “English is your language, and you need to know the words you read.”

Apparently, whenever I come across a word I don’t know, I am expected to look it up in a dictionary. Well then, I suppose I’m going to have a great time reading Faulkner and Shakespeare next year.

I had a science teacher who threw markers at us, broke things, and once screamed for 10 minutes straight about how terrible we were. I heard she was fired…

There was a teacher (I didn’t have him) at my elementary school who was fired for telling a girl she was stupid and wouldn’t amount to anything in front of the whole class.

I have mostly had good science teachers and excellent math teachers.

My math teacher last year wasn’t all there. As long as you turned in your notebook (This consisted of notes taken in class and worksheets he assigned.), and got an A on it, you could get a D on nearly every test and still pass with an A.

His filler word wasn’t uhm or like. He used the word “ok”. We counted 500 times in one 90 minutes class period.

I just remembered this today:

The TA (a middle aged woman) was handing back our essays - the first one of the year - and she handed me the wrong one. She saw that the grade was in the upper 90s and she accused me of plagiarizing and said that she would look it up on line to see if it was there. I told her that it wasn’t my paper and that it was this girl’s. The TA then praised the girl for her excellent work. ***??? Talk about sexism

One word: LOUNEY.

I have a heart condition that is sensitive to stress, and I had to leave the school in an ambulance and be rushed to the hospital. When I came back to get my work she wouldn’t let me make it up because she said I would just screw it up anyway. This woman was the strictest teacher I have ever met. She literally made me cry every night when I went home…and I wasn’t the only one. Basically every single girl who has had this teacher has cried. I would stay after school for help and she would yell at me and say “I’m not answering that stupid question, you should know it already”. She called us “bad dogs” all the time.

So after endless crying and suffering I finally get out of her class…only to have her for again for Pre-Calculus II Honors. It got so bad that the week before semesters and classes changed I would cry because I didn’t want to go back to her class. My parents even had to call the principal and they still wouldn’t let me switch teachers. So I stayed in the class. The first week she was nice and chipper, and then the second week came. Some girl in the back asked a question on the homework and the teacher refused to explain it again. The girl said “but I don’t get it”. My teacher yelled at her until she started crying. Afterwards the administration told the girl to talk to her and the teacher only said “What are you expecting me to do. I am not apologizing.”

Once she went to the bathroom, and the girl in front of me started crying, saying she didn’t understand why our teacher was so mean. Then I started crying and another two girls. It was terrible.

My parents finally called the superintendent twice and got me out of the class. Now I have to take a test written by her in September to see if I can go on to AP Calculus. I have gotten an A in every math course except hers. I highly doubt she will let me pass the test.

My teachers are so nice. :)

I think that the worst teacher that I’ve had wasn’t mean at all or anything, he just didn’t try too hard. I mean, notes were taken off of a history website, which he reviewed like right before class. Didn’t read book in 2nd semester of an AP course, something I thought I would never do. I got a 3 on the exam, when I know I should have gotten a 4 (one dumb mistake in one essay…grrrrr). He wasn’t bad, just lazy ;)

My current college professor for Calculus >_>

and my Health/Gym teacher. He hated me 'cause I actually read the book.

Physics teacher:

-For a lab report, someone copied me and got an A. I got a C. I complained and still only got a B.
-Teaches simple problems in class and the tests have problems that are out of this world.
-She is uberly fat.
-She hates me for some odd reason.
-Wouldn’t give me answers to practice problems for final because it was “unfair” to other students…AHEM…Last time I checked, I wasn’t in competition with other students. I just wanted to pass the class.

And it wasn’t like the other students couldn’t have the answers to the practice problems too.

Oh and my calculator’s batteries died during the final. And I had 1 problem to go. I just needed to borrow her simple scientific calc for 1 sec but she wouldn’t let me. I would’ve done it out by hand but she said I only had 4 minutes left.

Needless to say, I didn’t get the grade I wanted.

I will eternally hate her. Disgrace to the human race = Her.

That was my rant of the year

A much shorter list would be “my best teachers ever.”
I can only think of three.

My math teacher- he is incapable of putting a sentence together in correct english. He forgot what the y-axis was. He refers to me as Reefer, I have no idea why.

i had a math teacher who would begin every class with her life stories. it would go on for at least half an hour, if not more. and one time she left class, because her dog ran away and she had to go on some epic search.

plattsburgh,

ditto

Definetly my English teacher.

Terrrrible. I don’t even know where to begin. She had a 20 slide PP on an author and told us not to take notes because we wouldn’t be tested on it and went through the slides wicked fast. 3 WEEKS LATER she gives us a pop quiz asking for specific dates.

There would be times when me and a few people would miss her class because we couldn’t take her anymore and then she’d look up our records, confront us about it, and fail us for any assignment close to that day.

She would call us incompetent and ignorant when we didn’t under her assingments. The day before an essay, the entire class was in the library running around trying to figure out what on earth the essay was even about.

She made a ton of people cry in class and would MAKE us talk about really personal topics. We had a discussion about suicide with the school psychologist because she thought we were suicidal (and that we read a book about suicide). People were leaving the discussion because it was far too personal and emotional.

She’d give us 2 essays and a 600 page book to read over WINTER VACATION. Annddd expected that we would read like 13 books for her class thAT year. I read 2! Barely!

And for one test (that 600 page book which NO ONE read), everyone did horrible because there was one page of multiple choice questions where in really small/barely legible font it said choice the WRONG answer…so everyone got the entire page wrong!

It’s okay though, we had a bonfire and burned all our essays and roasted marshmallows over them to make s’mores :)
