the "id rather be friends" excuse.

aim is the ultimate.

My friend got broken up with during photo class in the darkroom, which sucked pretty bad.

Just stop talking to them, don't even say anything, not even why.

^^^^^^
Yesssss.

"it's not you, it's me"

Just stop talking to them, don't even say anything, not even why.

Of course, not that I'd ever advocate such a thing. ;)

^^^^ but that wouldnt really be breaking up with someone. even if it is, you'd be the one to know, not the other person. I think the OP is trying to get worst "lines" to say when breaking up with someone.

"let's be friends"
everyone uses it.
its soo cliche.
even if its true,
its cliche.

Breaking up without face-to-face contact i.e. on the phone, online, via text message, etc.

Pretty much lame-age. If you're going to break up, do it in person.

Online the night before Valentine's Day?....

Oh, right, been there, done that.

text message before some monumental days like 100th day or christmas eve or so on. oyea... breaking up by ignoring the person is painful also.... (my best girl friend got dumped like that... not a pretty sight)

I've gotten AIM before. It's the worst.

Written on a cake

^^^ OMG SO TRUE. Like u get a cake in front of everyone and it says that so and so is breaking up with you! and ure traumatized... you dont know how to react cuz ure surrounded by ppl.... ure about to cry.. and at that moment, a feeling rises inside you, a feeling which desires for you to eat the cake! But you cant, because that would be awkward. Now ure hungry and depressed!

^people actually do that? That's rather cruel and rather unusual.

How about the old "I'm not ready for a relationship" trick?
