Worth Applying Again?

Hi, I was flat out rejected by both A/E and it hurt me a lot. But I think I grew stronger from the experience and I know what I did wrong. Also, I think it would give me a sense of achievement if I got in after being rejected before. So does anyone think it's worth it to re-apply to these schools and other ones again for 10th?

yes especially if you only applied to those 2 and you rlly want to go to boarding school

If you've got the money and the time ..why not? But just know boarding school doesn't really define you, you define yourself. I would do it...just to prove to myself I could get into a top boarding school.

A lot of people apply as new sophomores, or even new juniors. If you really want to go there, then yes! I'm sorry about the bad news though.

Thank you for the support :) I think last time I wasn't even really aware of boarding school (I only knew about PEA because my cousin won a scholarship there and PA because it's their rival) but now that I know about the benefits and great other schools I feel more prepared.

And also, if you apply for next year - try applying to other schools as well. You might have more of a chance of getting into one of those, and you might fall in love with a different school after visiting.

i got waitlisted last year at andover and hotchkiss, but this year i reapplied to those two again and exeter and deerfield. i got into exeter, so yes, reapplying is never out of the question

yes, you should!!!
i think that this experience will really help when you re-apply.

Definitely!! You should look at/apply to more schools. You may find different ones that you like better.

i know i will.
i was rejected at andover, and it was the only school i applied to.
im now going to a public school.
i cant believe i lost this chance :[
but i think it was a learning experience for me.
i dont want a rejection letter for colleges either. so i rly think im gonna step it up a notch cuz i cant bear to get another rejection letter from great places.
[i applied as a 10th grader]

I MAY apply again next year. I too only applied to A and E. I wasn't aware of others, really. Because like you, I had a friend at Exeter and heard amazing stories, and then applied to Andover under the advice on my interviewer (thank, eh... REJECTED!)

My end result was W at Exeter, and R at Andover. Next year, if I DO end up applying again I think I'll do NMH and Loomis, one "community college", and then a couple more HADES; Exeter, Hotchkiss and Choate maybe? Groton maybe?

STEPH107-
YOU NEED TO APPLY TO CHOATE NEXT YEAR. So we can be school buddies! Please?

Other than silly selfish reasons, I think you'd have a much more experienced world view next time around. go for it!

Take a look at SPS next year...after I know the place Im gunna see if I can be a tour guide lol.

classicgirll and steph107- next time apply to more schools. and have a safety u really like!

thanks for the advice, but andover is the only place my parents want to spend money on just because it is what they think to be the epitome of opportunities. and yeah i think that too.
however exeter isnt too bad - just farther away.

Saer, i thought you were enrolling at exeter?
or am i just confused?

i learned alot throughout the whole process. i think i'll probably reapply next year. but i will definetly look into other schools that aren't as well known.

hehehe

life moves forward, but in a curve

give yourself a few months

I think I probably will :) It depends on what my parents think, because the rejection has been a devastating blow for my whole family. But we learned how unprepared we were; so there's a bonus in everything. Anyways if I can't even get into BS how am I supposed to get into Harvard?

hahaha i like steph's attitude.
and its pretty much the same for me too.

Nope, enrolling at choate! Well, in my head. I'll be going to revisit days at all 3 schools just in case something comes up.
