Worth applying?

My school limits the number of applications to 6, so I have to pick schools wisely. I have decided to apply to schools where I have a chance because I don’t want to end up being rejected from all schools. Do I have a decent enough shot to warrant applying?

I don’t really understand this whatsoever.

To answer your question though, yes, it is worth applying, unless of course you favor other schools over Brown.

Apply to 2 reach, 3 match and one sure shot safety school.
Brown can be one of your 2 reach schools. Look into schools with ~20-25% admit rates for your matches (since your stats, esp. IB scores are excellent)… and maybe another ivy for your reaches.

I have somewhat finalized one school for ED and two schools for EA. Most people say I look like a sure shot for at least one of these schools, so my plan is to apply to 3 reaches in the RD round if I don’t get into my ED school.

43/45 is insanely good even if just predicted.

Well, actually, I should mention that 43/45 is my current score in terms of attainment after the first year. More likely than not, it will go up to 44/45 or, hopefully, 45/45. But thanks!

Just presumed that in the worst of cases, my predicted would be my current and thus 43/45.

Brown has, I believe, a 4% admit rate for international applicants, so applying here could possibly be a waste of your 6 applications.

I say you should because your stats are amazing.

I think you sound like a great candidate, but it is definitely tougher for international students statistically speaking. What are your ED and EA schools? If you get into one you like a lot, I would go all reaches with the rest of your applications unless, of course, there is another match you have found that you want to explore.

Wharton ED, UChicago EA, Mich (Ross pre-admit) EA

As with most everything, I know international students here who look worse than you (stats-speaking), and some who look better. A chance? Yes. A match school? Probably not. But if you like what Brown has to offer more than your EA schools and don’t get into Wharton, then I’d say apply. If you don’t get into any EA schools, try 1 reach, 1 match and 1 safety. Unless you’d rather go to school in your home country rather than a “safety” school here. Then home’s your safety.

OF COURSE it is worth applying – you have an amazing chance!!

How much difference would it make if I said that my highest SAT score in 1 sitting is 2170 but my super-score is 2280? I think Brown super-scores but I’m not sure.

they super score, but at the end of the day i dont think it will come down to your scores since they are already pretty good.
