Is it worth applying to UIUC if I am an international student, no financial aid? My family can't afford a year by ourselves.
I have a 2390 SAT and 4.0 uw GPA. Rank 22/620

As you note UIUC does not offer any need based financial aid to internationals. Not having funds to pay for first year does not prohibit you from applying but will prohibit you from attending and getting necessary visas to come. See: [U of I Admissions: Information for Admitted International Undergraduate Students](<a href=“Page Not Found, Illinois Undergraduate Admissions”>Page Not Found, Illinois Undergraduate Admissions) As you will see from the Declaration and Certification of Finances Form that you can click on at that page, you will need to verify that you or someone supporting you has enough to pay $52,700 of estimated first year total costs to qualify and without that you will not be able to attend. UIUC might provide some merit aid, but you should not expect much (lucky if you get $1,000 to $4,000 a year)

:( I’m really sorry to hear that. From my impression of your GPA/ SAT scale I think you are attending school in America? Does your parents live in Illinois but you have not received your Permanent Residency/Green Card yet? If so…have you lived in Illinois for maybe 4+ years? I know a friend like that and she got in-state tuition.
Wish you the best!

Thanks!
I live in North Carolina and only just moved here junior year. I realized it doesn’t make sense for me to apply to UIUC.
