Hey everyone,

So right now I have 60 hours completed at K-State towards my B.S. in Econ. At the end of this semester I'll have 76. However, I just took my first accounting class and really like it, and I've also heard many things that have made me reconsider my sole Econ major - mainly, finding a well paying job in this economy which likes people who specialize in something, and I'm realizing that even though most of my upper-level Econ classes are extremely interesting and difficult, I don't see how a lot of them have a plethora of transferable skills to the workplace. Anyways, I was thinking of double majoring in Accounting alongside Econ, and if I did so I would graduate in May of '16 instead of Dec '15.

Do you think it's worth it? I feel like it would give me the big picture analytical skill set that comes with an Econ major, but also this skills to perform specific operations with the Accounting major.

Thoughts?

EDIT: I should note that Economics at my school is in the Arts and Sciences, so no, there aren't many overlaps in terms of the courses.
