Worth it to go to Info Session?

Okay, in the near future, Wash. U is coming to my hometown. I am very interested in the university, but I would have to pull a lot of strings to make the time slot work out.

Is there any real reason to go? The session only lasts one hour, and I could probably get all of the same info from the internet. But still, would it be good to "meet the school"? Would this help my admit odds any?

Any imput would be appreciated.

Bump…?

I could really use some advice. Even biased, false advice would work :)

Wash U has the reputation for REALLY wanting to feel the “love” from applicants[ which translates into visit if possible, meet the rep, apply ED, etc, etc]

They’ll probably have you sign in or fill out a card, and that would give you a little bit of a checkmark in the “shows interest” category. If you expect the event to be relatively small, you should go with the intention of actually meeting the rep before or after. A face to face meeting can leave an impression, and with any luck, it will be an impression made on the admissions officer who reads your application. In short, it’s not about getting the info about the school, but making yourself known to the school.

It’s really up to you. Do you want to feel like you’ve done everything you can to help your chances? Sometimes that involves putting in the extra time and effort and only you can decide if it’s worth it to you. Wash U is one of the schools that care about showing interest, if that helps you decide.

And for future reference, the word is “input,” not “imput.”

Thanks. I typed “input” on every other thread I have launched recently (about 2 or 3) where I asked for “input”. I guess I got lazy here, especially since I am somewhat of a grammar Nazi.

ALSO- Thanks for the advice, everyone :). I think that I will really try hard to make it to this session.
