Worth it..?

I feel like it may be a waste of time (and money) applying to UCLA and UC Berkeley because the OOS acceptance rate (FYI: I'm from NJ) is so tiny. I mean I know they're great schools but I just feel like it's going to come down to luck. Any thoughts to help change my mind?

Thank you so much for the help!

i would apply because i don’t want to have any regrets

^ Yeah, nothing worse than spending the rest of your life thinking “I should have…” Do whatever means possible to find the money.

Live life with no regrets! (My personal motto.)

If they’re schools you’re considering, taking the time to apply isn’t a waste. Anyhow, you only have to fill out one app for all the UC’s, so why not?

Haha, well I know two guys from NJ at UCLA in my class year. Seems like they’re enjoying it here.

I’m international and applied anyway… I got “lucky” I guess.

You guys are great! I will apply :)

definitely try for it if you want the come here, i know plenty of people from out of state and maybe the budget cuts will lead to more out of states (better qualified but also pay more money :D)

I think OOS acceptance rates are the same as in state. But it costs WAY more.

well instate do pay taxes to fund the school system…

Agreed! I pay a LOT of taxes, and since my daughter was class of '12, and my son is class of '15, I welcome every one else…
