I absolutely love Michigan, and since I first got my acceptance I've wanted to go there..
However as an OOS, I'm getting essentially no financial aid. On the other hand I can go to Syracuse or University of Pittsburgh basically for tuition free or University of Maryland fairly cheap.
I know it's silly for me to not accept one of these instantly, but I just LOVE Michigan. The other schools just don't feel right, any suggestions--

suck it up and go debt free, or go to the school I love?

^^^I have to agree with motion12345. Then again, I don’t think any school is worth a high tuition cost unless there there is some sort of dicscount afforded to the applicant.

Michigan is a really good school, but you have a option of debt free at other good schools. I definately would put more emphasis on those other schools. Though they are all unique, also very similar.

Like others have said, its suck it up time. Unless your majoring in something that will provide you with an adequate amount of cash flow to cover your debt. Which there isn’t. Wait a lil bit longer and they may send some aid. I assume its too late to apply for outside scholarships?

what’s the difference in cost over 4 yrs? I turned down a priv school which offers me almost full tuition for michigan, which cost me 20k± a yr. I don’t regret my choice because I find ways to cover that gap as much as possible and michigan is awesome. :)

Honestly the decision is all yours. The best advice I can give to you is to pick the college that best fits you. If you’re not going to be happy going anywhere else, then go to Michigan. There are a lot of scholarships and work study programs out there to help you pay for college. I have watched so many friends settle for colleges that they didn’t really want to go to and they end up resenting their decision. Whatever you do just make the decision for you and not for anyone else. I wish you all the best of luck! Congrats on your acceptance to some great schools!
