Is it worth reading Ways of the World right now given that I only have till May? It has roughly twenty something chapters, I’m almost done with Chapter 4… Teacher sucks, and I’m self-studying basically.

Or am I better off reading Barron’s, Princeton Review, and REA Crash Course? My initial plan was to read the textbook to get the details, and then read the prep books for overall review. I’m afraid time won’t permit me to read the textbook…

Honestly, if you don’t have time to read the textbook, don’t worry about it. Just reverse your plan- get the overall review from the prep books, textbook for details. Focus on Princeton (that’s the only world hist review book I read and I got a 5), Barron’s, and Crash Course. As you’re reading the review books and find you want more details, then consult the textbook. I generally find that the textbook has way too many details compared to the AP exam, which is more about connecting ideas and themes and knowing major events or concepts.

Thanks for your suggestion. I still think I’m going to read the book anyways since I love the textbook. LOL.
