worth standbying?

is it worth retaking the sat as a standby tester on dec 3, before i send in my apps? i need to know if it will delay things, or if my chances at the colleges will decrease. my current score is 1840, and i know i can get it up to 2100 ish by then. help

If you can get raise it up that much than yes, I say go for it. If you do get a 2100 then your chances will not decrease...why would they?

Well I heard that some schools don't accept rushed test scores or something like that, and by the time I'd get my results(2nd/early 3rd week of december) it would be almost a month later than now. The colleges might have open slots filled, and not as many positions available, resulting in more competition = rejection for me. right?

It depends on where you're applying. If I were you, I would send my applications in when I originally intended, making a note that I will have more SAT scores rushed. If you're so worried, you should ask the schools this question directly.

Almost ALL schools accept december sat scores for regular decision.

I assumed he was applying to rolling admission schools or trying to make a scholarship deadline or something. I can't think of a school that won't accept December SAT scores for regular decision. In fact, I can't think of a school that won't accept January SAT scores for regular decision, provided that you rush them.

yes I'm applying to mostly public schools and state schools, but I was thinking that with later test scores, my application would be considered later than if I submitted my current scores now, and in that timeframe several spots for my selected major would be filled, resulting in more competition for the remaining spots, and worse chances for me, because my application isn't that great compared to others?
