I reside in New Jersey, but I have a dual citizenship (US, Canada)

I have heard that because my Math I and Chemistry SAT II scores are much better (90+ percentiles) that I should not submit my physics score which is about 70th percentile. Is this true???

I would like to answer this question in great detail but a Native American called me a level 1 ■■■■■ on Yahoo Answers for telling him that smoking cigars might be an acceptable religious custom. So now I just feel upset.

first of all, it depends on what schools you would like to apply to and their requirements.
if you think this score does not accurately show your ability then you probably should not, but personally, i think 730 is pretty good.

Most schools require two subject tests one in math one in science. Rule of thumb is to submit ur best two. Remember that the difference between a 730 and 750 is only 20 points. Probably one or two questions. So it depends on ur major.

Thanks for the responses. The majors I am thinking of are chemical engineering, biochemistry, biomedical engineering, or pharmaceutical sciences.

I feel that a 730 is a good score, but in comparison with my two other scores it is not as good (score-wise or percentile-wise). I am planning on applying to University of Michigan, University of Virginia, McGill University, and Carnegie Mellon as my reach schools along with Rutgers University, University of Maryland, University of Delaware, and Boston University as safeties.

I agree. I will most likely be submitting all three even if the physics is not as good as the other two. A 730 is a good score regardless, and it just shows one more qualification.

There is no reason to hide a SAT2 score of 730. However, it would be better if you take Math2 and get a better score for your intended majors. Some schools on your list (e.g. UMich) does not even require SAT2.

I wanna say one thing. You can’t submit one subject from single test date, either you have to submit all or not one (assuming you have taken all in one day)

The percentile argument doesn’t hold for SAT subject tests Math 2 and Physics. Because of the skill level of those who choose to take the test there are many 800s for these. That doesn’t change the merit of a 730. In effect you are saying “hey I chose to take one of the hardest SAT 2s” and got a pretty good score. So I receommend that you send all your SAT2s.

If you choose to retake tests I recommend that you take the Math 2 (to replace the Math 1). It’s the preferred test for engineering/economics/science majors.

And as I’m sure you already know that 590 in CR can be a major issue for you. It depends where you are applying. You may want to focus on that.
