Worth the effort of trying?

<p>I'm a junior at an average public high school.
PSATs Math: 70 Verbal: 59 Writing: 50 (I'm planning to get a tutor for verbal/writing)
AP: Chem and Gov (only 2 offered to Juniors)
I have taken all the honors class my hs offers (math, french, english, history, bio and chem)
GPA: 4.03
Rank: top 10% (no class rank at my high school)
Extras: color guard (captain next year), math league, french club, and 100+ volunteer hours per year, french honor society, stage crew, I will get National honor society, DAR Award</p>

<p>also I went on two People to People Student Ambassador trips, UK (2003) and Australia (2004), each for three weeks. It's an educational program where you learn about their culture. This summer I'm giong on another on to Spain, France and Italy. I was also a Student Leader on the Australia trip and will be again on this coming trip. I plan to write my college essay on these experiences, so it should be pretty good. </p>

<p>I'm looking to major in math and physics, and girls are a minority in this field I'm hoping this helps.</p>

<p>Is there hope for me at Dartmouth??? or is this just a really big wish? And also any suggestions for me to do to help me get in? thanks so much. happy holidays :)</p>

<p>We can't really assess your chances of being admitted to Dartmouth if you haven't taken the SAT yet.</p>

<p>I should get around the same ballpark....I would take the SATs now...but I'm just going to wait for the new ones. It seems like everyone score goes upfrom PSATs on the SATs .....</p>

<p>your writing and verbal scores are kind of low; i scored in the low 70's and high 60's when i was a sophomore. Improve your board scores and I think you have a good shot.</p>
