At my current university, I'm a freshman at a sophomore standing (due to AP/IB credits). If I decide to attend Maryland in the Fall of 2009, NO AP/IB credits would transfer over nor would about 4 classes with credits transfer over. So basically, i'll be really far behind everyone else. Is it worth it?

well what are your main reasons for transferring? Is MD more affordable, offers a major ur current school doesn’t, prefer the idea of a larger school for both extracurriculars and social… or something else? Because if its for a major, then I would say change, just because that’s pretty important, and it would be better to start over earning credits you need for the major you want to pursue, and have all of them count here at UMD, instead of settling for a less related major just to keep credits. but I don’t know, that’s just me. And the other reasons, it all depends on how unhappy you are at your current school. If it helps, my sister took a year off, then transferred to UMD as a junior, and is doing well, she’s enjoying all her classes here as much as she did at her old school.

well first off, I live 20 minutes away, so I commute. It’s an urban campus with no campus-y feel and I lack a “real” college experience. But then again, I have a free ride there. The school doesn’t have the prestige like other colleges. If I do decide to attend UMD, I’ll be paying alot since grants won’t cover my cost of attending.

…BUT I have decided not to transfer anymore. I don’t want to be in debt by the time I graduate
