Currently in bad state school in MA(UM Lowell)

considering transfering to wisco after 2 years....its gonna be over 60k+ tho im sure ill get some aid since my EFC is 2500

is it worth it for a school like wisco? is wisco even considered a top school?

What major are you going for? Wisco is a top school.

international relations/business/economics…

Most public universities do not give good aid to anyone, let alone to transfer students. You will probably only receive your Stafford Loans. Where are you going to come up with the money?

argg i might also consider schools like vandy and other privates then…is wisco really not worth the price tag? my parents can pay 20-30k and id be willing to take up loans…

International Relations was my major at Wisco. Definitely not worth the OOS price tag for that kind of major. But that’s only my opinion.

Why not just transfer in state instead?

How is it that your EFC is 2500, but your parents can pay 20k to 30k? Sit down with them again, and run all of your numbers.

so when it comes to oos schools even if i have a 3.8 and a whole array of great ecs/recs/etc i still wont get any good aid? :(

Well I hear UVA and UNC give great aid to OOS students.

I transferred to UW from a New England school. Best decision. As for price tag it’s more affordable than many state schools if you’re OOS. I know I am saving a good amount of money but I was oos to begin with.

Really just depends on what you’re looking for out of the college experience. I would say UW is very solid in both the social and academic aspect.

its cheap for oos (only 40k ish) but i still cant afford it…with excellent stats from a UMASS would i get some aid? or am i better off trying for top schools since they usually meet full need?
