Worth transferring?

I am at UConn for financial reasons and I have always wanted to go to my dream school NYU. I am in the honors school and UConn and I have decent grades but I understand that NYU is very competitive. Please don't respond to this thread by saying I won't get it. I am asking a different question.

I am currently an accounting major with a minor in economics. I have a desire to go to law school afterwards for tax law or some other type of corporate law. If I don't go to law school I hope I can work at a Big4 auditor. Also, I really really want to live in New York.

Would being an accounting major in New York open more doors?

In my situation would it be worth the stress if I got accepted to NYU to go there and throw away my current 3.9 cum gpa?

I am a freshman currently so who knows if my gpa will go down. I would do the transferring into my junior year.

Thanks

Stern will certainly give you access to good jobs. That said, you say money is an issue and NYU is super expensive. Accountants get hired from many schools. You should be fine comming from the honors college at UConn too.

But lets say I want to go to law school.

Lets say I have a 3.7 or so in the UConn Honors School and a 3.5 at NYU. Would I be better off at UConn?

UConn has very good placement in accounting, from what I know.
