So, I got 32, but that was rather disappointing. Thankfully, I'm registered for another test in October. My goal is 35, but 34 is fine... If I raise 6 points in total, that will give me 32+1.5=33.5=34 composite. I think I will easily raise 2 more points on math (I've been getting 36, but on the test, I somehow got 34).. But reading and science scores have been inconsistent (I've gotten 36 and 28 both timed and from the official ACT booklets.). So I want to practice for 3 short weeks... I got 30 for both on the test, and they are pretty low.. I wanna get at least 32 or 33 on both.

I've already worked on PR ACT, PR 1296, Red Book, and all the official ACT booklets available online (2010-2011 thingies). I was wondering if Barrons' ACT 36 really helps. Or is there anyone who got 35 without Barrons' 36? Are there any other books that are like real ACT? (I heard Barron's questions are way too hard.) Gruber? Kaplan? ACT for Dummies? Any recommendation?

And if you have an experience of raising your score from 32-->34/35, I'd appreciate if you share it.

Barron’s ACT 36 is a strategy book. What you can do now is do the first ACT exams you have done once more. I did the Real ACt twice, PR Cracking the ACt twice, PR 1296 once, and Barron’s Pass key to the act. I only didn’t do the math the first time when I did these tests as I was still learning the concepts in school.

I too have question along the same line. I have heard few folks talking about Barron’s 36. I have the book. It doesn’t have lot of practice tests. It has like may be one practice test per section. How do you use this book? Do you use this mainly to get tips and use practice tests from somewhere else? I find the math section is not strong at all.

I did find english section helpful. Not sure about the reading and science. Can someone help? I’m in 30 range and would like to bump my score by few points.

@istudyhard Does that work well? What score did you get after you did that? I do see the upside, but at the same time, it wouldn’t be very effective if I want to practice keeping time.

Okay listen to me, everyone saying that the red book is just like the real thing is wrong. I got 26s 27s and 25s from
The red book. The highest I scored in one subject on the real thing was a 24. The red book is bs and way easier, take something else.
