Would a college rescind you for bad final grades after accepting you off the WL?

Just a hypothetical question. Suppose a college accepts you from the WL in mid-May. Then, in early June, they receive your final grade report. If it's really bad (let's say a few D's), would they rescind you? (my guess is yes but it does sound like an odd scenario)

Basically all acceptances are provisional, whether from the wait list or not. Once they receive your final transcript, they can rescind due to poor grades.

Yes. If you get good grades freshman-junior year and bomb senior year (which some people think it’s okay to do) then it’ll hurt you. I know someone who got rejected from a university because they failed Economics their senior year.

Why would rescinding someone off the WL be any different from rescinding someone accepted during RD/EA/ED? All matriculating students must show adequate (however that’s defined by the college) final grades.
