I got offered a position at my university to research in statistical consulting as a freshman. It sounds interesting, and it deals with helping out other grad students/professors at the university who are doing their own type of research but aren't able to figure out some of the statistics.
I would learn a programming language or two & do this under a professional.

I know that the experience couldn't hurt, but I was wondering if it's something that would be exceedingly helpful in the future in the business field when applying for jobs, etc.
