if one wanted to go to grad school for engineering

Grad school is what I am planning on as well and I believe that cal poly will get me there over ucsd, hopefully to stanford somehow. It will take strong grades and a lot of campus involvement, but from what I've seen through my visits so far, cal poly has a lot more potential in these areas... for me. Both have a strong department in mechanical (also in aerospace, which I am doing) and you can't go wrong with either. If you see yourself at ucsd, if you feel comfortable with the demographics and vast hill plagued campus, by all means dont think twice about slo. Fitting in is what matters, for the next four years you will be molded by your surroundings. Cal poly's admit day is this week, i suggest you go and figure out if the campus kneeds you.

ya, i guess i just got to go where i feel comfortable
