Well so would it?

No

What do you mean, "guarantee one's CHANCE"? It would help your chances but it would in no way guarantee admission.

can't hurt of course and will help, but guarantee? No way

I think the problem is your use of the word 'guarantee.' There is no such thing as a guarantee at Stanford. Would it make you a strong applicant? Yes, but I'm sure you already knew that.

Nothing guarantees admission anymore. College admissions is such a crapshoot, especially at a school like Stanford.

But it does make you pretty impressive on paper.

Intel what? ISEF or STS

@holland1945
Would it matter?

Being any Intel Finalist is really amazing, but it seems like all that would do is make the admissions officer take you seriously. Honestly, as long as you have a good resume, you have a shot. But then again, so do 20k other students who applied this season (subtracting SCEA and the kids who shouldn't have applied in the first place.) They have around 1500 spots left, yielding an admissions rate around 7%.

You are against the best and the brightest students around the world, so make sure you have something that transcends any expectations one could possibly have.

I don't think ISEF is THAT big of a deal. honestly. Definitely nowhere near "guaranteeing" admissions.

I'm an ISEF finalist soooo yeah I would like to be wrong.

there are about 1500 ISEF finalists, and only 40 STS. STS makes you standout a bit, but guaranty? No way!
