I want to have some time to breathe so I don't want to be studying all day. Right now i have 13 units and I could do with another class or two.

bumpppppp change physics to chem 1a.

yup, too much. less is more if you want a high gpa.

No way anyone can pass with a schedule like that.

how about bio 1b, chem 1a, lanuage level 2, and and easy elective?

The main issue is not with 16A. 16A is the easiest of those four courses.

Keep in mind that languages are very time consuming, and combining that with Bio 1B and Chem 1A is not a good idea.

really? aren’t they both not too bad? the IB planning sheet puts that together or chem 1a and math 16a together. Also, if I’m interested in an emphasis from MCB, should i just major in IB because of the whole gpa thing?

bio 1b, physics 8b, and math + something easy shouldn’t be too bad. the language might be pushing it tho.

actually its bio 1b, chem 1a, and maybe math now. but i guess it’d be the same answer.

chem 1a in spring, as i’ve heard, is much easier. so, that schedule looks pretty good imo.

yeah, that’s what i was thinking.

I was just wondering, why is Chem 1A easier in the spring?

nitsche gives extra credit + easy tests

Okay, thanks. My son is taking it right now and doing fine, but I was just curious as to what was different about the class in the spring. I didn’t know there was a difference in difficulty of classes between the fall and spring.

I wouldn’t necessarily say it’s too much. It really depends on if you can handle the workload. I know plenty of people who can succeed with that course load with relative ease, especially if they’ve taken the AP-equivalents in high school. There’s far harder schedules out there (mine included) so don’t get boggled down by the numbers. If you think you’re about the average Cal student, I would say to try it out and you could always drop a course and enroll in a 2 unit if you can’t handle it.

okay thank you!
