Would colleges compare CSS and FAFSA?

I had to submit CSS Profile earlier in the year to colleges and since our family didn't know how to properly fill out the stuff, we overestimated. Now that we can correct FAFSA, would the colleges find it suspicious that the numbers are fairly different? (this is also taking into account that the FAFSA also accurately reflects our 2010 tax return, instead of the estimated amount in the CSS).

Also, would it be worth it at this point to print a copy of the CSS and send it w/ the acknowledgement to all the colleges I have applied for? I just wonder if having an excuse of not knowing how to fill it out and having it clarified by our tax return person would work.

I think you should send a marked up copy of your CSS with the correct numbers to the schools you are applying to with a note saying that this marked up version is more accurate. Dont think any college would think its suspicious. They can always ask to see your 1040 forms to verify the numbers.

yes, We received an email that requested us to explain the discrepancies between CSS and FAFSA.
