Depends upon the college. Some do not include Freshman year grades in their GPA calculation but will still look at those grades to make sure you meet their course requirements. Many include 9-11th grades plus will ask for a Mid-year Senior transcript, so check each schools requirements.
Schools may be more forgiving of freshman year because of differing expectations between middle skills and college. There are big differences between high school and college. Messing around is never acceptable, especially when school becomes more difficult. There may be some limitations on potential college choices because of cumulative gpa.
What is your unweighted each year. How much of your increase is due to more weighed classes? Colleges tend to use unweighted or their own weighting system.
the top, elite schools conduct a “holistic” review of each applicant, and they’ll see your upward trend in gpa. although the trend isn’t necessarily as good as a consistent good gpa, how you are evaluated will also depend on the rigor of your classes. In sum, the trend is good. keep up the good work!
State schools may or may not look at the trend. Some might look at your final GPA and other might go the extra mile.
