Would colleges look down on seeing an SAT Prep class on your transcript?

Hi there. I'm interested in taking an SAT Prep class that is offered at my high school junior year, but I'm afraid that it'll look bad to colleges, like I only cared about getting into college and not challenging myself. I'd already be taking 4 APs that year, and we'd like to save money by doing the in-school option. Will this hinder my admissions in any way?

I can see you not learning much in a class such as this as alot of the students who elect to take the class, are taking it specifically because they see it as a joke of a class.

Would this be in place of a EC? Does you school really issue credits for this? I’d see it as a wasted opportunity to take something fun and interesting to you. And I don’t think you will ‘be looked down on’ but you certaintly are not strengthening your transcript by it.

I appreciate the saving money part, but why not determine if it will be helpful to you. Many kids do well selfstudying just by doing some practice tests from 10 Real SAT’s. That’s what my kid did, but she excels at tests. Her classmates who took a paid course didn’t see any improvement. Why not inquire if that course has been shown to have any impact.
