Would Columbia accept a teacher recommendation if they received it tomorrow?

Hey guys, my teacher lost the rec. I gave her over the break so she just filled one out today. I overnighted it through USPS today and they said that Columbia should receive it tomorrow. Will they look down upon my application because of this?

No. Lots of documents won't be received until well after the deadline. The only deadline you need to meet is the one for getting your part of the application in.

I'm not sure about specifically Columbia, but most colleges contact you if something is missing, right? Why would they bother doing this if they won't accept anything late? It's something you can't control, so I think it will be fine.

YAY. Thanks!

The teacher rec is mostly the teacher's responsibility, not yours, so they won't view it as your fault. The fact that you overnighted it shows that you really did your best to get it in on time. Plus, this close to the application deadline they're still sorting through piles of mail and probably haven't begun reviewing files yet anyway. You're fine.
