Would Cornell be offended if I called admissions to ask if I could appeal a rejection?

I know it is highly unlikely (I am HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY aware that appeals never work) but would Cornell be offended if I called and asked. I got this selective internship at the UN under what would have been my major. I’m not hinging on this rejection, but I would like to know if it is possible to appeal

What would it matter if they were offended? You’re no better off if you don’t appeal.

Will they be offended? No. Will they accept an appeal? Doubtful. There are 6700 applicants on the waitlist, so even if they moved you to the waitlist, that is as far as you’d go. Love the school that loves you back.

The sad truth is that they wouldn’t care about your internship and you would likely be rejected again.
