Would dropping an AP course be preferrable to scoring a 3 or below?

Hi, I am really getting owned hard in AP Calculus BC. I'm looking at a probable 3 or below, would it look better on my future transcript if I just dropped?

bump 10char…

No - don’t drop a class because you think that you might do poorly on the AP exam. You don’t have to report you AP score if you don’t want to. What grade are you going to get in the class?

I’m being predicted in the 90s right now, but after the mock exam on Friday I’ll probably go down to 70-80.

Can you even drop this late? Many schools in my area will leave the class on the transcript as a fail if you drop it at this time in the year. Anyways, most colleges don’t care about your AP scores except for getting credit. You don’t even have to report it if you don’t want. Stay in the class. Take the test. Also, the BC exam has a HUGE curve. You may surprise yourself. And I’m sure you’ve already paid, so if you drop now, you’d lose your money.

Chances are it will help that you have taken the class because if you don’t get college credit for it chances are good that you will need to take it in college and it will probably be less difficult the second time around.

Stay in the class, it is great for your transcripts. You don’t know what you will get. My kid only got B first semester and C 2nd semester and still got a 5 on the test. But is you don’t get good grade or score, repeat it in college if you are going to go on to higher math, just to get these fundamentals down.
