Would Early Action be right for me? I sort of messed up during my junior year.

Hi All. I came here to ask, would applying early action to certain colleges be right for me? I am a rising senior, but during the first semester of my junior year I received a 74 (ouch, i know) grade in my honors Algebra III class. Needless to say, I took pre-cal (college prep level, however) next semester, and got an A.

However, it hurt my gpa a bit, as i currently have around a 3.65 unweighted and 4.1 weighted gpa, whereas it was previously higher. Would applying early action be bad for me due to my mess-up junior year? Or should I still go for it? I am applying early action to schools like UVA and UNC, by the way.

my other stats:
sat - 2120
subject tests - 770 USH
- 760 World
- 660 Lit (probs not gonna send)

Decent EC's (state awards, a few leadership positions, etc)

Thank you to anyone that takes out a little of their time to help me :)

Wow, exact same question here. Someone please answer this.

I asked an admissions officer during one of my visits and she said to apply EA. Either way, if they want you they’ll accept but if you’re on the fence they’ll defer and then wait for grades. They only deny if you really had no chance and your senior grades wouldn’t make a difference anyway.

Agree ^^. It’s always best to apply EA, because EA is non-binding. You still have until May 1st to decide.

ArKhaik, how are your grades if i may ask? are you gonna apply EA?
