Would ED help or hurt BC's acceptance rate and yield?

Why wouldn’t BC implement a ED option? Wouldn’t this bring down the acceptance rate and increase the yield?

I believe they correctly understand that they will get an increased amount of superstar candidates in ea vs ed round. And many matriculate after ivy mit type rejections occur. It really keeps the stats and academic strength of the resulting class at an elite level.

Adding ED would help yield. If they added ED, but got rid of EA, applications would decrease and admit rate would rise/become less selective. If they added ED and kept EA, then likely admit rate and number of apps stay the same.

They would lose kids (in the early round) who also want to apply early to Notre Dame and Georgetown, as those schools don’t permit you to apply EA while also applying ED to another school.

This is true, although Nova has used ED strategy to go effect in increasing both yield and selectivity. It puts pressure on applicants who are statistically in the bottom half of the accepted student profile to forego "long shot options at G’Town or ND.
